Governing Body Of Jehovah's Witnesses = Militant Attitude!
This equation is a keeper!
for those who haven't come across furuli before , he is a 77 year old norwegian professor and is ( or was ) one of the few "scholarly" jws used by the society and used as a source on various matters ( especially 607 bce ).. however recently he has fallen out with the gb and has published an interesting book - like many recent scholarly apologists , he seems to be going down the road of disagreeing with the authority of the gb but still holding that the jws is the one true religion.
kind of "lions led by donkeys".
whether this view will continue is anyones guess.

In chapter 5 (Disfellowshipping Based On Human Commandments) page 209, Furuli states that the Governing Body have a militant mindset toward disassociated ones that needs to be abandoned:
"...This means that if a Witness writes a letter saying that he or she will resign from being a Witness, he or she will be treated just like a disfellowshipped person and will be shunned. This is an expression of a militant attitude, and in the absence of clear Scriptural instruction, this practice should be abandoned. This is, in reality, the same as to use two different balances and scales, one set of balances and scales when a person changes his religion and becomes a Witness, and another set when a person changes his religion and leaves the Witnesses. Moreover, the justification for this attitude is wrong."
He cannot be the only one of WT top brass who feels this way. My guess is many WT Bethel elite feel deep down that the WT GB have too much of a militant attitude toward any who simply want to walk away from this cult.
we have the instructions to not engage in any meetings or outside witnessing.
she's a very pretty sister.
she is dressed in appropriate jw attire.
You know it's a good song when part of the lyrics get stuck in your head and you find yourself repeating them...
🎶Stay The Flock Home'm...Stay The Flock Home'mm...Stay The Flock Home'mmmmm.🎶
Kudos to the WT Society for this one!🤣🤣🤣
i guess it's the covid-19 thing.
but very little news from a couple of people i know well there.
they can't leave the "compound" or much of anything else.
I agree RubaDub...I've been in contact with many who are there. They put on a 'happy face' for the sake of appearances...while at the same time they speak/describe the many restrictions they're forced to live by. It's a long list of do's and don'ts...or else! I especially feel sorry for married couples cooped-up and enclosed in a 500' square foot studio 24/7 for the past 3 months. I mean...tension and tempers must be at a breaking point by now for a ton of married individuals. And they're talking about it being this way until possibly September or October. The reality...life at Bethel sucks!
there was a 50 year gap between the failed dates of 1925 and 1975.. memories fade, people die, and who cares what was said 50 years ago.. most jw's now in the religion werent there when 1975 was a thing.
even my mother who was baptized in 1974 who i do remember speaking about it back in the day, can barely remember what the fuss was about.
for active jw's who are doing all there studying online now, its practically impossible to find any wt contemporary reference to 1975.. i read recently (sorry i cant source it right now) that at the time, even watchtower may have taken the view that even if they knew 1975 was wrong, the short term gains would far outstrip those who left leading to an overall net gain so it was a risk worth taking.
...what gets me...is why did GB Lett stop there...why didn't he just keep on going with the 'Last Days' warble?
I mean it took him all of 20 seconds to say what he stated...why didn't he go on for another minute or so with the 'final part of the last days' mantra!🤣🤣🤣

Someone will come up with the link to GB member Lett going off the rails regarding Covid-19. But here's what he actually said...if you can believe it:
"The events unfolding around us are making clearer than ever that we're living in the final part of the last days...undoubtedly the final part of the final part of the last days...shortly before the last day of the last days."

Would WT ever risk setting another date?
I doubt it...unless they can come up with a slogan to replace..."Stay alive til '75"!
Oh wait...
🎶"Soon you'll adore '34"!🎶
the point of the letter was how many are feeling disappointed these days.. no circuit assembly, convention, how we can't fellowship at the k.h.
disappointed we might have had a love one die, etc etc.
he then goes on to write about how disappointed jehovah must have felt when his first human creation rebelled.
The C. O. in a local circuit said that Warwick, Walkil & Patterson compounds would remain in lockdown mode til October 2020. So if that's true...Assembly Halls and most Kingdom Halls will more than likely see very little use til then as well. That's another 4 to 5 months of these properties sitting idle and collecting dust...so to speak. I drove by our local hall & it's beginning to look abandoned...a ghost-town...imagine what it'll look like come September or October!
i don't remember disfellowshippings happening very often and announcements about being re instated but i think i remember that we used to clap hands if someone came back after being disfellowshipped.
but then i think clapping wasn't allowed.
am i correct in my recollections?.
RubaDub: The order from the top was to stop the clapping in respect of the innocent party(s).
Now the JW leadership can give a rat's ass about the innocent party and now say..."Oh, what the hell go ahead and clap"!
This organization is a joke in their own right!🤣
his murder was a crime and justice must be done, but it's sobering to learn more about the man who is being lionised by millions.
thanks as always to the courageous candace owens.. ....
Wow...this isn't the same George Floyd CNN is reporting on and parading around!
Looks like CNN has some fact checking of their own reporting that they need to do about this guy!
